Now I was not going to forget my camera this trip up, but when we traded vehicles my camera was left in the car. This would have been quite the picture as none of these guys are small guys. So sitting on each others laps and making lots of funny comments we headed up Old Fall River Road. This road is only open 4th of July unti Labor Day weekend. It is a one way up dirt road. This year it was more washed out since we have had so much moisture this spring. There are steep cliffs on one side most of the way up as you are climbing a mountain side that is only 9 miles long. It has the most breath taking views which more than makes up for the ride. This time we saw the big elk about 3/4 up the mountain. They are always amazing big creatures. Here is a picture I took of the elk we saw at the top of the mountain in July 2005. They just look at you and go back to their grazing and are only a car length away. The elk rut will be starting again soon in October. I sure love spending time in the mountains in the fall with all the Aspen leaves changing. Jeff & Andrea Time...
While Zac spent the week in Utah with his cousins Jeff and I had some time together. Monday we went to see Bourne Ultimatium and had dinner at Cables. They have wonderful pizza's. Then Tuesday we went for a bike ride out on the Poudre Trail. Wednesday we decided to go to the mountains. We walked around the shops in Estes Park and went to dinner. Then we drove out by the enterance of RMNP and watched the sunset. Thursday Jeff's friend Jason called who is now home from his last tour in Europe and let us know that Vettris's were in Estes Park at a youth conference at the YMCA. So we made contact with them and they had been stuck at the YMCA all week. So we traded in our car for my father-in-laws truck and went back up to RMNP. Loaded in our truck were 4 adult guys and in the back were the 2 girls Miranda and her cousin.
