Pizza

We never have to go out for pizza again. Jeff is making his own pizza dough and sauce and it is so  delicious.  Then we like to mix it up a bit by adding either hamburger and olives or just cheese and basil or hamburger, onion, red pepper and olives.  Any way he cooks it, it is wonderful!

Zac's 6th grade school schedule and report card.

Great job Zac for giving your all to everything you do.  He has learned and grown a lot over this last year.  He has participated in singing at the CSU and UNC Women's Volleyball games.  He sang at the Denver Nuggets game.  He was in 2 plays - Nothing says I love you like bad poetry and Macbeth.  He participated in LULAC for a bit in the fall and was selected to be on the Play 60 team that met most Friday mornings at 7:45am.  He went to his first school dances.  He helped with the School Fall Festival and Bandfest.  He was willing to go to the Parent Advisory Meetings and either work on homework or invite his friends to come back to the school and "hang out" with him.  He has learned that it is his responsibility to ask questions if he is unsure how to do something in his class.  He has completed 3 book reports one on Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, one on Guardians of Ga’Hoole #2: The Journey, Guardians of Ga’Hoole #1: The Capture.  I am so proud of him for rising to the challenge of 6th grade and giving his all every day!

Gingersnap

Last night Jeff had crashed on the bed... too little sleep along with the room makeover project and I had just gotten Zachary to bed when Gingersnap came in the room and began whimpering.  I had taken her out and Zac had fed her so not sure why she was whimpering.  Well she is a considerate dog as she knew that Zac was asleep and did not want to bark, but her whimpering woke Jeff up.  Jeff sat down on the floor and began rubbing her back and hind legs then they both laid down on the floor and she just snuggled up to him and was as quiet as could be.  She just needed her Jeffie time and was not happy about going without.  I just had to laugh.  She has so much personality.

Painting time again...

It is Spring and time for the spring cleaning projects to begin.  This year we are touching up all the walls and baseboards.  This has been quite a project as we have 12 colors of paint to keep up. I love having one main color and then accenting it with another color so that all the walls in a room are not the same.  So I started in the living room then moved on to Zac's room.  That was a full day project as boys can be hard on the walls I have discovered.  Then I worked on the kitchen, hall, guest bath and office.  Now it was time to tackel the master bedroom, which was the very first room that we painted on this journey about 7 years ago.  So after taking a good look at it Jeff and I decided it was time for some new colors and we were ready to lighten it up a bit.  We decided as we went along that it wouldn't be too hard to make a headboard for our king size bed so while the first coat of paint was drying we headed to JoAnn's Fabric to find something to cover our new headboard.  We are so very excited about our new master bedroom and it has become the new favorite room in the house to hang out in.

Trip to Utah

We had such a great trip to Utah.  We started out by leaving super early on Saturday morning about 4:30 AM and of course when we got to Rock Springs about 10:30 we had to wait for Taco Time to open at 11AM so we could get some lunch. Then on to Syracuse we went.  As were were driving along we got a phone call from Kathy to tell us that Fort Collins is going to get a temple.  I am so excited.  Then as we arrived at Paige's we sat down for an early dinner of turkey and ham.  Oh so yummy!  Then we watched the afternoon session of General Conference. Then Jimmy, Marnie and their kids came over for a quick few minutes to chat.  It was so good to see them. Zac and Kent headed out for the Priesthood session of Conference where they had tickets to get into the Conference Center. They had such a great time and even stopped at Iceburg for ice cream shakes.  Now that is some shake!!

We had to go to McGraths for some clam chowder.

We stopped at Vail on our way home for some dinner and walked around and enjoyed watching the snow cats up on the hill as it was getting dark.
