First visit to Alabama and here is what happened....

As we crossed Tennessee we were so happy to see lots and lots of trees. We have missed seeing all the green having once lived in Oregon and Washington. Having lived in Colorado for the last 19 years we have missed seeing all the green around us. As we crossed into Alabama we had a feeling of coming home. This was our first impression. We drove around and loved the small town feel of the area. It has everything we need right here. Anything we don't have access to could be found in Huntsville, Nashville or Birmingham. We decided as much as we love the coast lines we did not want to put ourselves in the line of direct hits from hurricanes coming in on the Gulf Coast. We wanted warmer weather more months out of the year. So we began house hunting. We saw a few homes and this was one of them. A realtor Susan bought it and flipped it. We put in an offer on Tuesday night. Wednesday the realtor Susan found others to go look at it and we heard at 5:30 that she had multiple offers and needed our best offer by 6:00pm. Whether it is true or not we had a decision to make, and 30 minutes to figure this all out.  We had to choose to put additional money down or walk away. We talked about how much more we should do. With not being able to know how much the other offers were for we decided that if we wanted this home we would have to put down another 10,000 and just hope it would be enough. At 5:58 Jeff suggested I say a prayer and the first thing that comes to my mind we would do.  We would either be all in or walk away.  So I said a prayer and the first thought that came to mind when I said amen was go for it. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers. Not that it happens this quickly all the time but I am so very thankful that I felt the answer to our prayer so quickly with so little time to make a decision on this. We called our realtor back and gave approval for the extra 10,000. We decided to drive over to the church building to meet the members who were there for youth activity night and while there we received the phone call that our offer was accepted.  We were so excited. We went back the next day to check out a few more things on the home and get window sizes for fabric to cover the windows for when we move in.  Then back to Colorado we went to begin packing. While we waited for the phone call we received at 5:30 we went to McFarland Park and had pizza while looking at the Tennessee River. It is just so beautiful here. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
