2014 Breckenridge Colorado

Every year there is a International Ice Sculpture contest in Breckenridge Colorado.  I just heard about it last year and with my job it is hit and miss if I will have to work or not during this event.

So with the weather and baseball practice cancelled we decided to make a quick run for it.  It was very cool to see all the sculptures.  Tomorrow is the last day of the event and after that they are all taken down.  So with this in mind if we are ever able to make it in the future we really want to go just as they are finishing the sculptures or the day they are done.

Both sides of the same sculpture.

There is also an ice castle that you can tour.  We didn't take the opportunity but it looks cool so we took a family picture.

Then we took a walk around town and checked out the shops.

The event is sponsored by Budweiser and so here is the sculpture dedicated to them.  Also posted below are the tools that are used to make the sculptures.

The town looks like something that you would see in a Hallmark movie.

This last one is the firehouse.  It is all so quaint.
So it was a fun day and with as crazy as it has been and is going to continue to be we are grateful for the day to spend as a family. Lucky the roads weren't too bad and here is the sign to say good bye from our fun day!
