Pumpkin Patch Trip Weekend...

So here is how the story goes...

Zac started his weekend early as he only had school Mon-Wed. So he spent Thursday going on splits with the missionaries. They went and taught a 12 year old girl and then went tracking. Friday Zac and I headed to Loveland to meet Dave and Kathy and we went to the Denver Temple and did baptisms. Then after a quick stop at IKEA we headed back to Loveland where Dave and Kathy took Zac home with them.

Mean while I headed home to Jeff and we decided what we wanted to do. We decided to be spontaneous and head to Estes Park where we tried out Hunters Chophouse. Then we headed up into RMNP to see if the wildlife was making any noise. Over at Moraine park we only heard one elk bugle. Then we went up to Rainbow and it was very quiet but it was so beautiful to look out and see from Fort Collins to Denver of city lights and right below us was the lights of Estes Park. So we went on down to Sheep Lakes and thought we would stop there for a few minutes to see what might be happening. The field was full of elk and they were bugling like crazy. At one point there was even a coyote barking.

Then we headed back to Fort Collins to stay the night at Dave and Kathy's. When Saturday morning came all three of us were found sitting on the couch on the computers. It looked something like this...

Then after we finally got ready for the day we headed to Athens for lunch and out then on to the Pumpkin Patch!! We have a family tradition to got to Patchwork Pumpkins out in Ault. This year we took Dave & Kathy with us.

Zac looking for the perfect pumpkin...this one did not make the cut.

Jeff recording sounds in the pumpkin field.  He is enjoying the sound of the tractors.
Kathy found her pumpkin quickly and now waiting for the tractor and the rest of us to find our pumpkins.
Dave thinks this might be the one.

Andrea searching the field for the perfect pumpkin.

Jeff still recording sounds...sure hope he finds the pumpkin he is looking for.
Kathy found the perfect hat for her pumpkin.

Dave decided this is his pumpkin.  He likes the yellow for the face.  Very creative.

Zac searched the field walking from end to end looking for the perfect pumpkin.  What will he find??

Oh wow!  Look at that pumpkin not only is it big it has warts!

So Zac decided he wanted another pumpkin too...

Really after all that searching....you call this a pumpkin?  It looks more like an egg.

So maybe that last pumpkin didn't make the cut, but neither did this one.

My boy he is growing up so very fast.  I love the time I have with him and his funny personality.

Really this is what I have to put up with.  Such a joker!

What a good picture of Dave and Kathy.

Family picture time.  A good lookin' group!
Zac is growing so much he must have needed an afternoon nap.
Dave just enjoying his computer.  While Jeff is in the kitchen making bread.  He can't eat it but he loves to bake.

Well now it is time to decorate our pumpkins...

Of course this is the pumpkin Zac chose and with this photo shoot came out Zac's personality...

I told you I love this kid!!!

So here is the first stage of Dave's pumpkin watch as it evolves during the evening...
Kathy and I are busy trying to figure out just exactly what we want to do to decorate our pumpkins.

Zac using the hot glue gun.  At some point during the evening Jeff, Zac and I burnt our fingers on the hot glue...

Jeff has very little space in which to decorate with.
Wait it's not done yet!
