Here we are at the baseball game. You can see we have finally gotten it right with a sportbrella (thanks to the grandparents for letting us borrow it this summer for the games) it sure helps to buffer the winds and keep the sun off our heads.
And all along his grandparents have been at 85% of all his games. I know how much he appreciates them taking the time to be at his games.
I love how Zac is so serious when it comes to baseball. He has grown and developed a lot in the 9 years he has been playing. I still remember his first game and when he hit the ball he started running to 3rd base instead of first base.
Jeff is a wonderful father that wants to be at every practice to help Zac and his team to do their very best. I spend a lot of games sitting with my in-laws or by myself as Jeff is always out there helping the team.
Go Team!
Another thing about Zac is that he loves to slide, however this was one opportunity that he did not need to. I love how his teammate steps away from the base so that he can run in. Of course you can't hear me, but most likely I am yelling. Mario is the one standing with the bat.
Mario is also our catcher. He does an excellent job and he talks to Zac. When Zac is pitching Mario gives him signals to determine what ball Zac is going to throw and Zac shakes his head until Mario knows which one. It is so much fun watching them play.
Zac is quite the pitcher on his team. It is fun to hear the kids on his team say "Zac throw the googley". It is a certain throw that Jeff and Zac have been working on. Also it is fun to watch when he thows the ball and the kid at bat just stands there wondering why he didn't see the ball go by...at least that is the expression I see. Then last night Zac pitched to his team at practice and they only got a couple of hits off him. At another game Zac had 7 strike outs in the first 3 innings and in another game 5 strike outs in the first 3 innings. He is pitching again tonight so we will just have to wait and see how it goes.
