Sick days...

Well school has only been in session for 7 days and we have our first cold that was brought home. I am really tired of this. With all of the sickness going around parents need to keep their sick kids home! The first day of school a kid comes to school sick and I ask why do parents let their sick kid come to school? Not to mention it is only the first day of school. You know that they are not going to miss much the first day of school. I feel that it is time for the school to step in and send sick kids home or to the office. This doesn't need to be spread around the class. There are a lot of kids in school with families at home that can catch what they have. I think it is time to send sick kids home. Ok, so now I will get off my soap box!

So what does this mean for us. Well another sick day at home and missing work. Zac also missed a day of school. So we set up camp in the tv room. I on the futon and Zac on his mattress in the room. I would give Zac 15 minutes to play with his legos and then we spent 15 minutes working on fractions. I think he is starting to get it. I never did care much for fractions so in a sense we are both learning together. It is a good thing that I have some books that the teacher sent home and the answers are in the back of the book so I can figure it out to help Zac learn.

Then the afternoon was spent Zac watching tv and I spent the afternoon reading my friends blogs and catching up on facebook.

I big thanks to my husband for picking up lunch and going shopping for dinner. He also mailed out the baby quilt that I had finished yesterday. I hate being sick but this weekend I was able to do peaches and finish off the quilt before coming down with this nasty cold. Hopefully staying down will make it go away faster. Tomorrow Zac goes to back to school and it will be another quiet day at home. I hope to get better quickly as I have meetings at work on Wednesday. We will just wait and see how I feel. Hopefully I can sleep tonight with a stuff up nose. I will sure hope that the menthol rub will help.
