I love kitchen gadgets...

As my husband will vouch I am the kitchen small appliance/gadget queen. I love things from Pampered Chef, Tupperware and my latest and greatest discovery of all Demarle at Home. My sister-in-law Melanie is selling this. I took one look and thought that I would never use this since I am working and have little time for fun baking and it is hard to do a lot of baking with only the three of us to eat it. Not to mention that every time I make a cake we eat 1 to 2 pieces and the rest of it will end up in the garbage at the end of the week. There are not a lot of sweet tooths in this house. Which I am sure the dentist is happy about. Any way for Christmas Laird & Melanie got us a flower mold and silpat. Now you are probably wondering what am I talking about. Well here is an excerpt from the Demarle website which is at www.demarleathome.com

So tonight I made Divine potatoes and remembered to cook them in my new mold. Then while that was cooking I made chocolate chip cookies and cooked them on the silpat.

Dishes were done in 2 minutes flat. So how often do you cook a casserole and then have to put them pan in the sink to soak since the food is all stuck on and will need a few minutes to soften up or you just leave it in the sink with water until the next morning. With Demarle molds I was done washing the pan in less than a minute. No stuck on food. There is no greasing the pan either. I baked gumdrop cake over the holidays and the cake pulled away from the edges and dumped right out on to a plate. No greasing the pan or puting flour in the pan either. That is so messy anyway! Here is the pan after we scooped out the leftovers for lunchs. And since I made cookies I used the silpat. You just put it on the cookie sheet and then put the cookies on the silpat. They come right off. See the empty spaces where the cookies were - no sticking at all. It is amazing. I think that some time soon I will have to have a party so be saving your pennies and nickles and dimes and you will need them, but this will be an investment of both time and food products like shortening, flour or non-stick spray.
