Hike up to Cub Lake
Memorial Day Zac stayed home with Gigi & Papa to help Papa plant his garden. I will have to get those pictures. But mean while Jeff and I headed for our favorite place RMNP. We went and hiked up to Cub Lake. Here are a couple of pictures.
Jeff on the hike. We took a few short breaks as the hike was a lot of up hill and the altitude catches up with you quickly.
This is taken at Cub Lake. The fog was down on the lake. It was nice and cool which it is easier to add layers if you are too cool and much harder to take off layers. So it was a good hike and then on the way back down the trail it rained on us. It wasn't bad as the tress caught most of it and so we were at least not drenched by the time we reached the bottom.
This is me on the trail going up.
These are the big horn sheep that we saw just after we came out of RMNP on the Sheep Lakes side of the park.
Game day 6/3/08
Game - Tuesday, June 3, 2008 - BIG THANKS TO PAPA for taking the pictures. I am so busy coaching the 18 kids that all showed up for the game and since some of them had been at Scout day camp earlier in the day they were very energetic. (That's a good word for it.)
Kathy, Jen, Sienna and myself before the game.
Jaden hanging out by the dugout during the game.
Papa, Sienna & Jen watching the game.
Kathy & Jen watching the game.
Before the game. Letting the boys know where they are going to play and the batting line up.
Jeff, Efrian and I discussing the game plan for the evening game.
Jeff & Efrian talking to the other coaches and the umpires before the game.
The other team coach and I discussing the game. Their team had a great pitcher, he said "Thanks, that's my son." Earlier in the game when Zac was playing catcher he said, "Wow he is really good." I told him that was my son. Such a proud mama moment.
I have my clipboard in hand. I've told the boys who's next up to bat and what position they are playing next inning in the field.
Jef walking out to the field. It was a little cool this evening and I was glad that Jeff's jacket was in the car. Zac was our catcher for this game. He was awesome!!! He would get that ball and the coaches were telling him where the ball needed to go and it was gone before you knew it.
He is looking like a serious ball player!

Baseball - Let the games begin ...5/28/2008
Jeff and I are coaching Zac's baseball team again this year and we have 18 kids on the team. Our first game was last night. Zac was in short stop and was calling the ball in the air saying I got it and then when he did get it there was a surprised look on his face. It was great. Also he got a base hit last night and the other team over threw the ball so he made it to second. Then the next two kids hit and he got to 3rd and home. It was a lot of fun. I will post pictures soon. I need to get batteries before Friday's game.

Mile Wide Tornado!
Here is the tornado coming towards Swift Company just before it hit State Farm.

Well going to work today Jeff noticed that the winds were blowing west instead of east and commented that it could cause a tornado later in the day. Little did we know. I was in a meeting about 11:40 and we heard the hail hitting the windows. We looked out and could not believe the hail that was coming down. We were quickly evacuated to the stairwells within State Farm. Just a few minutes later the wind and hail was hitting the door so hard that I thought at any moment the door was going to come off the hinges. Next to me a gal that I used to work with was very upset and I tried to tell her it would be ok. She had never been thru anything like this. After about a minute the wind subsided and about a half an hour later we got reports that at the Swift building next door the roof had come off the building. There was major damage to most of the cars in the parking lot and some damage to our buildings too. It was a wild day and definitely not what I had in mind for the day. So much for all the work I needed to finish today. I guess there will be major catching up to do next week. Thanks to some friends that I work with who live in our neighborhood I was home by 4pm today.
Our home is fine and we just have had high winds on and off today here.
