Gillette Wyoming - Frontier Auto Museum

We stopped in at the Visitor Center in Gillette and there was this Jackalope mounted on the wall.

 We found this cool antique automotive museum in Gillette Wyoming.  It was so fun.

We found the best prime rib we have ever had at this place.  We have even gone back just for dinner. The prime rib just melted in your mouth. 

Graduation with Bachelor Degree from Brigham Young University Idaho

This journey began three years prior and it was a very emotional decision to go back to school. I knew I needed to but had not been able to find a program that would fit my needs. After talking with Zac one Sunday day I thought to go back and look again.  That Monday I looked back online to BYU Idaho and found a program that would work for me. It was Interdisciplinary Studies.  During my HR Class I had an assignment which caused me to go and look again at the programs offered.  I ended up changing my degree a second time to three certificates. I had finished Administrative Assistant already. I was in the middle of Business Administration and changed it to Business and Leadership Skills and added Database Programing. While it was hard at the time and there were a few tears of frustration shed and endless hours spent trying to learn how to write programming code it has been worth the work and effort to get this far.  This is the picture I submitted for my graduation from College it was next to my name in the program for Business Bachelor Degrees.  

 

My parents came for a visit for my graduation. It was a great day and I was so glad to have this chapter in my life behind me.

 

Family Summer Vacation 2015

Wow it was a whirlwind fun 3 weeks.  It all started on Tuesday we got up and left Colorado and drove to Nampa, Idaho.  Stayed the night and went to visit Brad's family first thing in the morning before we headed out to Warrenton, Oregon.

On our way we pass three semi-trailers for Taylor Swift and I hear they were headed to Canada for her concert tour.  When we made it to Warrenton we met Laird and Grandpa.  We headed out for a bite of dinner.  We stayed at a motel in Hammond.

On Wednesday Grandpa took us to visit Uncle Steve, Aunt Karen, Aunt Verna and then we took grandpa to Mo's for some chowder!  That evening we played some cards and just enjoyed our time with Grandpa.

On Thursday we headed on down the road thru the Oregon Coast.

To Move or Not To Move... Our story

Well we were a little fed up with the coaching staff on Zac's baseball team.  I won't say much more than that, but it made us think about Zac and the quality of education that he was getting, he said his freshmen year at Greeley West was easier than his 8th grade year at Chappelow.  WOW!  As a parent I was not too happy.  So taking all this into consideration we decided to at least try and see if we could get Zac into Rocky Mountain High School.  We sent in our papers and two days later we had a confirmation that he had been accepted.  So that pretty much was the final piece of the puzzle.  We made the decision to sell our home of 11 years and make the move to Fort Collins.  We are very fortunate that we could for the moment move in with Dave and Kathy while we looked for a home.  So the house was cleaned, painted and pretty much packed up and put into storage. Only the barest of items were left out and a month later the house was on the market.  We listed it on Monday and had an offer on Thursday night.  WOW,  that was fast.  We finished packing and were out of the house within a couple of weeks.  We moved in with Dave and Kathy by the middle of August and closed on the house at the end of August.  Zac started seminary and school, we just had to find a new normal.  That took a while.  There was a lot of unpacking and finding a place for everything.  There was so much that could not be put into storage with all of Jeff's studio gear and our food storage.  It is amazing how much "STUFF" one has accumulated after 20 years of marriage.  When we cleaned out and packed the bulk of it away we lived happily for a couple of weeks with out all of our extra stuff and realized that maybe minimizing next time might not be so bad.  So we made the move and have been looking around Fort Collins.  Our disappointment is that not much is available right now.  The house prices are extremely high for a small old property and home.  We are now waiting to see what plan the Lord has for us in the future. What we do see is how engaged Zac has been with his new school and friends.  He started the year off going to football games and found a good group of friends to spend time with.  He was gone most weekends hanging out with new friends.   He had great friends but he hung out with most of them one at a time.  What he loves I think is spending some of his Sundays going back to Greeley to see those great friends.  :) Well Zac joined the baseball team for fall baseball and we spent Thursdays and Saturdays mastering 1-25.  Not that we hadn't already had lots of experience. LOL.  But it was fun.  Come November he was doing weights and finally we made it to Christmas break.  Then training began again.  There was a lot of early morning and after school and Saturday practicing.  WOW!  I had never seen such a rigorous training schedule.  Now we know why RMHS is known for their baseball program.  I have been so very impressed.  Not only by the training provided, but the parents and kids too.  Everyone has been so kind and friendly.

Well Spring season of baseball came and Zac made the JV team and is playing with a great group of guys!  Jeff has been learning the scoreboard and I have been sitting with some of the mom's cheering on the boys!

We will see what the next few months bring our way!
