Zac's 10th Birthday

Well my boy turned 10 on Dec 2nd.  It is so hard to believe that 10 years has gone by as it has happened so very quickly.  So I took off from work as soon as Zac was out of school and we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse where Zac opened his presents.  He received a hiking vest from my parents and Bakugan and his Webelo's stuff for scouts.   Then we went to the Family Fun Plex and went swimming.  It was a lot of fun.  Then on Friday night Jeff's parent's came over and we played some pool and had porcupine meatballs for dinner.  Then we played a game of Monopoly that Jeff won and had a Cold Stone ice cream cake for dessert.  I asked Zac what he wanted for his birthday dessert and he said surprise me mom.  So I did.  It was really good.  Zac got from us a much needed long sleeve shirt and his belt for Scouts to hold all of the beltloops that he has earned. Then from Jeff's parents he got a model car with $20 from grandma and $100 from grandpa for his savings. I know he probably doesn't appreciate having to put it in savings right now but when it comes time to pay for his mission or college he will sure be glad to have it.

Holiday Parade 2008

It is now tradition that the day after Thanksgiving we go to the mountains and watch the holiday parade. So we met Dave at Costa Vida where we had lunch and then made a pit stop at Target as Zac forgot his hoodie and Dave also needed a sweatshirt. While there Jeff also picked up a new long sleeve shirt. Once that mission was accomplished we headed for the mountains.

Once there we walked through the shops and headed to Starbucks for some hot chocolate to keep us warm. Then we headed back to the other end of town where the parade was set to start. Our family secret is to go to the beginning of the parade so we can get back to a warm car sooner rather than later. It is always a lot of fun.

Thanksgiving 2008

For Thanksgiving Dave, Jeff, Zac and I went to see Grandma, Sue and Hal.  Also Scott and Nancy joined us and he is Sue's son.  We went to the Ramada Inn for dinner and then back to Grandma's to visit.  Grandma will be 100 in March and so we wanted to spend as much as time as possible with her as we are sure her years with us are limited.

A funny story to share is that Grandma put tape along the back of her hair and gave herself a haircut.  She looked great. Also her son Don makes rubberband guns and her she is showing us how she shoots at a target across the room.  Zac also had a lot of fun with this toy.

While we were celebrating Thanksgiving here Kathy had a wedding to attend in the Bahama's for her nephew Luke.
